We are still working on turning the stuff we found at the garage sale into some useful pieces of furniture for the house.  My Auntie has shown me the possibilities of working with discard furniture and other items to turn them into useful pieces that will fit in with a home’s decor.  Those four wooden cubes with lids that we found at a yard sale are shaping up pretty nicely.  I am really excited to see what we have done with them so far.  We put two in the closet under the hanging organizers we use for shoes and sweater.  The other two are going in the bedroom at the foot of the bed.  We took the lids and made seat cushions out of them.  My auntie used some batting underneath the upholstery fabric to make the top of the lids into a soft seat.  The lids can be raised and the idea is to store extra blankets and sheets inside, or whatever else we decide needs to be stored away.  The wooden boxes look like a bench when they are bumped together and they are a comfortable place to sit when you put on your shoes in the mornings.
